11-12 Year old Dixie Youth softball All-Stars compete at Grove Hill
Published 12:00am Tuesday, June 28, 2005The 11-12-year old Dixie Youth softball All-Stars took the field for their sub-District tournament in Grove Hill over the weekend. Unfortunately, the team suffered defeats to Butler, 12-2, and Grove hill, 5-3, and were eliminated from the competition.
Connecting at the plate for Demopolis against Grove Hill were Kellie Browning, who went 2-3, Madison Bozeman, 1-2 with a double, Mary Beth Smedley, 1-1 with a walk, and Kristin Beech, 1-2 with a double. Against Butler, Bozeman walked and advanced on stolen bases to score, and Browning and Lindsey Thorn each went 1-2. Chloe Chancelor went the distance for Demopolis against Grove Hill, striking out 5.
