City passes new banner law

Well, they finally did it.

The Demopolis City Council voted unanimously Thursday to pass a new ordinance that allows businesses to use banner advertising.

The new law is an answered prayer for local businesses hard hit by the economic downturn. In recent times, Demopolis business owners have petitioned the city to be more lenient and relax the city code.
