Locals awarded UWA scholarships

Three Marengo County students were recently awarded Trustees Scholarships to attend The University of West Alabama.

These awards, which are based on academic achievement and proven leadership potential, come from the UWA Office of Admissions.

 Shiane A. Abramson of Gallion receives a $10,000 academic scholarship.

The Linden High School senior plans to major in accounting.

 Silina M. Houston of Linden earns a $10,000 leadership scholarship.

The Linden High School senior plans to major in special education.

 Rebecca A. Murray of Demopolis receives a $10,000 academic scholarship.

She is a Demopolis High School senior.

Since 1835, The University of West Alabama has served the west central Alabama area and beyond through educational opportunity, academic research and public outreach.
