Demopolis police officer terminated

A Demopolis Police Department officer was terminated Tuesday. Officials would not release the name of the officer, but sources close to the situation confirmed the officer was Sgt. Tommy Johnson, who served more than 20 years with the department.

Demopolis mayor Mike Grayson confirmed that a police officer had been terminated, but would not comment further. Grayson also declined to name the officer.

DPD chief Tommie Reese also would not comment further, citing that “It’s a personnel issue that has been addressed.”
