The 2101st Transportation Company, consisting of members of the National Guards of Demopolis and Aliceville, will deploy to Iraq on Sunday.

Guard members went to Fort Dix, N.J., on Jan. 10, to take part in several weeks of training and preparation before being sent overseas. The 2101st claims 170 members.

Previously known as the 440th Ordinance Company, this deployment will be the second for this Guard company in the current war, as it provided transportation support for Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004-05.
