Hugh Nelson Brown III

Hugh Nelson Brown III, 60, of Fairhope passed away Wednesday, March 2 in Fairhope. Known to his friends as Nelson, he was a lifelong resident of Alabama. Born Feb. 11, 1951 in Demopolis, he was the firstborn child of Stella Price and Hugh Nelson Brown Jr. He graduated from Indian Springs High School and received his B.A. from the University of South Alabama. Nelson was a real estate broker, certified property manager and asset manager. He was an avid sportsman who especially loved to hunt and fish, as well as a talented musician.

He is survived by his mother, Stella P. Brown, of Dayton, his sister, Stella W. Brown and husband, John Hackmeyer Jr. of Flowood, Miss. and his beloved dog Buddy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Nelson Brown Jr.

Graveside funeral services were held at the Brown Family Cemetery in Dayton on Saturday, March 5 at 11 a.m.

Active Pallbearers were John Hackmeyer Jr., David L. Ratcliffe, Vivian G. Johnston III, Mike Damoff, George LeGrande Watkins, Clifton McKnight and Leslie D. Parker.
