Demopolis softball extends win streak to six

Demopolis High softball picked up its first region win of the season Tuesday when it downed Wilcox-Central 21-0 at home.

Demopolis (10-4, 1-0) got two innings of work from Meredith Mackin. The freshman walked one and struck out three while allowing no hits before giving way to Zoe Lewis, who struck out two over her two perfect innings of work.

Kristin Beach went 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. Courtney Lawrence went 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI. Olivia Brame went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Baleigh Grace scored one run. Raylee Eubanks went 1-for-1 with a run scored and two RBIs. Danielle Tatum was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Donelle Hale was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Madison Bozeman was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI. Riley King was 1-for-2. Alexis Jones was 1-for-1 with a run scored and an RBI. Sidney Colyer scored a run. Zoe Lewis was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Meredith Mackin went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs. Victoria Washburn was 1-for-1 with a run scored and an RBI. Maria Brooker went 1-for-2 with a run scored. Alex Crawford scored a run. Victoria Webb went 1-for-2 with three runs scored and an RBI.

The Lady Tigers travel to Wetumpka Friday to compete in the Wetumpka tournament. The team will contend with Hueytown and Dadeville in pool play.
