Grace K. Perolio, 95, of Demopolis died at her home Tuesday, March 29. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Art Luckie officiating and Kirk Funeral Home Demopolis Chapel directing.

Visitation with the family will be in the church sanctuary from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Grace was born April 1, 1915, one of four children to the late Robert M. and Elmer Killgore.

She spent her youth in Linden. She met her late husband John H. Perolio of Belmont. They made their home in Demopolis. Grace retired from Lloyd Jones Chevrolet as bookkeeper after 32 years of service.

Grace was preceded by her husband John H. Perolio, sister Merle K. Harrison of Marion, a brother Robert M. Killgore Jr. of Gallion, an aunt Ethel Little of Demopolis and a niece, Beth Krieger of Houston, Texas.

She is survived by her brother, Ambassador Andrew I. Killgore and his children, Robert N. Killgore of Washington D.C., Grace Jane Killgore and Thomas L. D’Albani and their children Lindsay, Jeffrey and Nicholas of Bemidji, Minn., Roberta and John McInermey and their children Ian and Colin, all of Washington D.C., her niece Ann H. Standridge of Oneonta, her daughter CAmille and Larry Asbury and their children Harrison, Clara Grace and Catherine, all of Clay, her nephew Bomar Harrison Jr. of Daphne, a nephew Cleveland and Doris Killgore and their son Mark and Gina Killgore and their children Rob and Hunter, all of Gallion, a niece Dorothy “Dot” Callaway and her children Corey Callaway and Cheryl Hannum and Christie C. Rabalais and her grandchildren, her niece Frances Allen and her daughter Mary Anne and Darrell Cramer and their children Darrell Cramer Jr., Rusty and Tony and their grandchildren of Demopolis, a niece Flora Grimes of Gulf Shores and her children James Allen Jr. and Teresa Brumfield.

Grace was a member of the First United Methodist Church and also a member of the Annie McLeod Guild. She was an active member of the Bryan Whitfield Auxiliary, having served as Treasurer.

She was presently serving as treasurer of the Chautauqua Study Club and an active member of the Canebrake Garden Club. She was also a charter member of the local Pilot Club.

Grace was a pillar of strength and lived her life to the fullest. Following her education at Livingston University, her quest for learning and knowledge was never ending and such quest brought her pleasure and served to enhance her life. She will be greatly missed and well remembered.
