Florence Hill, 98, of Linden died Saturday, May 14 at marengo Nursing Home. She was born June 4, 1912 in Reeltown. She was the owner of Florence Hill’s Grocery and a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hill, daughter Hilda Dixon and son Carl HIll.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Aubrey “Bubber” Dixon of Linden, daughter-in-law, Rita Hill of Linden, sister Voncile Stone of Andalusia, grandchildren Jack Dixon, Rebecca (Joe) Beverly, Michael HIll, Robin (Steve) Schroeder, Todd (Lynn) Hill, seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Monday, May 16 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Gandy officiating. Burial was at New Octagon Cemetery in Linden.

Active Pallbearers were Buddy Vick, Jack Dixon, Patrick Phillips, Doug Dixon, Nollie Hinson and Billy Mooring.

Honorary Pallbearers were Chad Beverly, Joe Beverly, Steve Schroeder, Brandun Averitt, Cess Hall, Joe Mooring, Sonia Deshler, Cody Hill, Florence Mooring and the staff of Marengo Nursing Home.
