Thanks are due to Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese and his department for successfully pulling off an operation Friday morning that netted the arrest of 21 alleged criminals and drug pushers and users.

Reese and his officers have done an excellent job to-date in corralling this element of our society and putting a serious cramp in their business model.

Reese’s mantra of “Today may be your day” is fitting. Friday morning was several people’s day.

One can only imagine what it must have sounded like inside those homes just before the sun came up as officers from multiple agencies knocked on and knocked down their front doors.

The effort put forth in this kind of exercise will go a long way in drying up the flow of drugs through the county’s street.

It may never be brought to a complete halt but it can certainly be brought to a crawl.
