One killed in weekend wreck
Published 1:34pm Monday, August 1, 2011A single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning claimed the life of a Uniontown woman.
The crash occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on Marengo County 53 six mile north of Thomaston. Shantale Monique Butler, 22, was killed when the 2008 Mitsubishi Galant she was driving left the roadway and struck a tree.
Butler, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by Marengo County Coroner Stuart Eatmon.
Since this is an ongoing investigation, no further information is available at this time.
