The Demopolis City Schools Foundation has begun the search process for a new Executive Director.

Jan McDonald, who announced her retirement last month, will step down Dec. 31.

“We hope to bring the new person on board some time in December,” said Kim Townsend who is heading the search committee. “There is some cross training that we need to do with Jan before she leaves.”

Townsend said the ideal candidate will have experience in marketing and public relations as a proficiency in computer and office technology; good verbal and written communication; some fundraising experience; experience in working with a non-profit organization; some experience with general management; a familiarity with social networking; have good interpersonal skills and possession some general accounting skills.

A college education, Townsend said, is preferred.

The job, which is a part time position, requires approximately 25 hours per week. Townsend said those hours are mixed between the office and meetings and various times of the day.

Interest parties should send a resume by September 30 to the DCSF, P.O. Box 1338, Demopolis, AL 36732, or deliver to 102 E. Washington St., Ste. C. For information, call 334-289-2226.
