Ernestine “Tena” McMillan Bovis, 89, of Marion died Nov. 2 at Perry County Nursing Home in Marion.

Born June 28, 1922 in Calvert to the late Ellis Oscar and Louise Gayle McMillan, she is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 66 years, Eric C. Bovis, brother John Oliver McMillan and sister, Martha Gayle McMillan.

She is survived by her sons, John Ellis (Ginger) Bovis of Marion and Frank Wayne Bovis of Dothan, grandchildren Shannon M. Bovis of Ypsilanti, Mich., Michael J. (Amanda) Bovis of Marion and Eric W. Bovis of Montgomery.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Marion United Methodist Church with Reverends Misty Edwards and James Waters Jr. officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing. Burial followed in Kissimmee, Fla.
