Martha Elizabeth Swift Rogers, 95, of Marion died Saturday, Jan. 21. Born June 29, 1916 in Birmingham to the late Roy Orlando and Inez Perry Swift, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William John Rogers, sister Ann Swift Thompson and brothers Roy Orlando Swift Jr. and Leland Galt Swift.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Rogers (Joe) Freeman of Marion, son, Dr. William John (Paulette Lufsey) Rogers Jr. of Mountain Brook, grandchildren Joseph Rothrock Freeman Jr., William John (Tanya) Rogers III, Paul Edward Rogers, John Rogers Freeman, Bethany Ann Freeman (Clint) Sweatt and Mary Elizabeth Rogers and a great grandchild, Mary Kathryn Sweatt.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. at Marion Cemetery with the Rev. John Nicholson and Mr. William John Rogers III officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Marion Chapel directing.

Active Pallbearers are Joseph Rothrock Freeman Jr., William John Rogers III, Paul Edward Rogers, John Rogers Freeman, Clint Allen Sweatt and Paul Albert Wallace, John L. Thompson Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers include Dr. John Thompson Sr., Dr. David Gettinger and Dr. Scott Alexander Marshall Jr.
