Task Force arrests 2 in York

Two York men were arrested and face drug charges after law enforcement agents executed a search warrant at their home last week.

Agents with the 17th Judicial Circuit’s Drug Task Force, along with police departments from York and Demopolis, executed search warrants at 208 Chaney Ave. in York and arrested Eddie McCorkle and Shannon Biffle.

An undisclosed amount of drugs, including marijuana and cocaine, were recovered from the home as was a .38 pistol which was reported stolen from Mississippi.

Task Force Commander Clint Sumlin extended a thank you to the York PD and Demopolis Police Tommie Reese, as well as the DPD Narcotics Unit and K-9 Division.

The 17th Judicial Circuit’s Drug Task Force was formed in June by District Attorney Greg Griggers and local law enforcement to combat drugs in Marengo, Greene and Sumter counties.
