Mrs. Eliza “Janie” Smith, age 56 of Uniontown, Alabama passed January 25, 2012 at the D.C.H. Regional Medical Center, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  Funeral Services were held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 12 noon at the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Newbern, Alabama.  Rev. S. P. Powell, Pastor.  Rev. Arthur Turner, officiant.

Carrie Owens, Mistress of Order.  Interment followed in Owens-Threatt Family Cemetery, Faunsdale, Alabama.    Larkin & Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis, Alabama entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include a loving and devoted husband, Julius Smith, Uniontown; a son, LaQuintin Smith; two granddaughters, Jahdazi & Taiana Florez, all of Faunsdale; loving other, Margaret Threatt, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; five sisters, Della Turner, Pell City, AL, Juaqnita (Waqlter) Johnson, Ft. Wayne, Ind., Willie Lois & Mary Threatt of South Fallsburg, NY and Gwen (Charles) Boykins, Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Johnny Threatt of Covington, GAQ and Jimmy Threatt of Pell City, Ala.; four aunts, Willie Lee (David) Turner, Faunsdale, Gladys Threatt, Griffin, Ga., Mary Threatt and Jean Threatt of Pell City; five sisters in law, Della Weeks, Locks Sheldrake, NY, Willie Ann Threatt of Faunsdale, Annie Threatt and Dorothy Threatt of Uniontown and Ollie Threatt of Pell City; brother in law, Derrick Ward of Uniontown; devoted neighbors, Maple Hunter and Eline Hunter of Faunsdale, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
