Mary Ann Flowers Scott

Mary Ann Flowers Scott, departed this life on March 4. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cedric Erroll Flowers and Inez Frisble Flowers, her husband, Henry Eldon Scott Jr., a sister, Jane Flowers Watson and a brother, Cedric Erroll Flowers Jr.

She is survived by her two sons, Henry Eldon (Elizabeth Ann) Scott III, M.D. of Mobile and Walker Robers (Gigi Louise) Scott of Mountain Brook, her brother, Samuel R. Flowers of Mountain Brook, three grandchildren, Henry Eldon (Michelle) Scott IV, Catherine Key Scott (Zachary) Ashbee and Kyndall Louise Scott. Additionally, she had seven great grandchildren who survive her.

Mary Ann was born in Demopolis on June 26, 1927. She Henry Eldon Scott Jr. of Linden after he returned from service in World War II.

Eldon was a banker, and consequently, they lived in Marion, Atmore, Mobile, Evergreen and Thomasville until their retirement in Mobile.

Eldon and Mary Ann were instrumental as one of the founders of Sparta Academy in Evergreen.

Mary Ann was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her children and many descendants. Her beauty, artistic talents, and graciousness will be remembered by her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Graveside funeral services were held at Linden Memorial Park on Wednesday, March 7 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ed Shirley officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers were Henry Eldon Scott IV, Zachary Stewart Ashbee, Roberts Boyd Scott Jr., Laymon Myres Yelverton, Thomas Alexander McKnight and William Scott McKnight.
