Benjamin Edward Nettles, 69, of Demopolis died March 25 at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham. Born May 26, 1942 in Marengo County to Albert Samuel and Claire Mott Nettles, he was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Natalie Nettles.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Copeland Nettles, sons Benjamin Edward (Heidi) Nettles Jr. and Samuel Thomas Nettles, brothers Dennis (Mary) Nettles and Jerry Bolen and grandchildren Buckley Nettles, Mae Harmon Nettles and Sallie Nettles.

Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel with Eddie Pickel officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers included Jimmy “Boo Boo” Dutton, Bruce Ryne, Cary “Bubba” Bryant, Mike Randall, Leonard Reffett, Wayne Baker, Tommy Smith and Alfred Padilla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in Mr. Nettles’ memory.
