ADCNR announces youth hunt dates

The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources has announced dates for youth dove, duck and deer hunts in Hale County.

The hunts are scheduled to take place at the M. Barnett Lawley Forever Wild Field Trial Area. The dates for the dove hunts are Saturday, Sept. 8 and Saturday, Sept. 15.

The youth deer and duck hunt dates are Nov. 21, 24 and 28, Dec. 1, 5, 12, 26 and 29, and Jan. 2, 5, 12, 19, 23 and 26.

Duck season closes on Nov. 28, so all duck hunting will occur on the three November dates.

To register for the dove hunts, visit http://outdooralabama.com/hunting/youth-hunts/youthdove/, and to register for the duck and deer hunts, email the ADCNR State Lands Division at dcnr.fwfta@dcnr.alabama.gov, or by calling 334-624-9952.

A youth hunter, parent or guardian can reserve up to two hunting dates. When registering, include a first choice and an alternative choice for dates.

To participate in the hunts, hunters must be age 15 or younger and accompanied by an adult at least 25 years old, or a parent, who holds a valid state hunting license and a Harvest Information Program (HIP) stamp. Licenses and HIP stamps will not be available on site.
