Longhorns, Panthers prep for homecomings

Marengo Academy and Marengo High School will be having their homecoming football games next Friday, Sept. 28.

Marengo Academy’s festivities kick off Thursday night at 5 p.m. with their roundup, which includes festivities for children and a fun atmosphere for adults. Following the roundup, there will be a pep rally at 7 p.m.

Throughout the week, students will be allowed to dress up in different outfits to show school spirit in preparation for the homecoming game on Friday night against Meadowview Christian.

Marengo High’s homecoming activities begin Thursday night as well with a bonfire and the annual powderpuff football game. They will also have different spirit days for students to dress up during the week.

The annual homecoming parade for the Panthers will begin at 2:30 p.m. Friday.

The Panthers will host Akron High School in the game Friday night.

Linden and John Essex will have their homecoming games on Oct. 5, Demopolis and A.L. Johnson will have theirs on Oct. 12 and Sweet Water will have theirs on Oct. 19.
