Best Blooming awards for the month of August have been announced. The monthly beautification awards are given to local businesses and residents by Demopolis horticulturist Barbara Blevins and her department.

Winners from August were:

•Best Blooming Home – Buster and Judy Ward, Main Avenue.

•Best Blooming Vegetable Garden – Richard Perry.

•Best Blooming Church – Trinity Episcopal Church on Main Avenue.

•Best Blooming Business – Lindsey’s, U.S. 80.
