James Anthon Patterson, 70, of San Antonio, Texas, a retired Air Force Colonel and respected businessman, passed away Dec. 6 near his San Antonio, Texas, home with his wife by his side.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Addie Ruth and Randolph “Pat” Patterson and his grandchild, Trevor Patterson.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Loretta Patterson, of San Antonio, Texas; his son, Jeffrey (Dawn) Patterson of San Diego, Calif.; his daughter, Donna (Allen) Bishop of Demopolis; granddaughter, Kasii Patterson of San Diego, Calif.; great-granddaughter Amelia Lichty of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Carolyn (Mixon) Sanders of Andalusia and Patricia (Charles) Arant of Monroe, N.C.; and numerous extended family.

Jim had an irrepressible enthusiasm for life and loved being in the company of family and friends. He is remembered for his incredible sense of humor, generosity and compassion.
