Friendship Club held December meeting

The Friendship Club of the Demopolis First United Methodist Church met for its annual Christmas Party on Monday, Dec. 3 in the Fellowship Hall of the Church. There were 48 attending. The club welcomed several guests: Virginia Beck, Lucinda Mason, Lee Arrington and Rhonda Brown.

The meal consisted of sliced ham, sweet potato casserole, lima beans, pear salad, rolls and assorted desserts. Circle II was responsible for the meal. Those serving in the kitchen were Mrs. Daphne (P. D.) Glaser, Mrs. Becky (Roy) Jordan, Mrs. Joyce (Jack) Kerby, Mrs. Joyce (John) Haynes, Mrs. Martha (Frank) Sampson, Mrs. Vickie (Dan) Wilson, Mrs. Kayte (Thomas) Melton, Mrs. Joyce (Lawrence) Barnes and Mrs. Margie (Don) Williams.

Nametags were decorated with pictures of Christmas trees.

Members received bags of candy, ornaments and crackers as favors. The decorations were Christmas bells on the tables and Christmas napkins.

“Happy Birthday” was sung to those whose birthdays are in December. They included Mrs. Buddy Perry and Mrs. Roy Jordan.

There were several tables of Dominoes and Bridge and everyone enjoyed the fellowship. The next meeting of the Friendship Club will be Monday, Jan. 7, 2013.
