Delores Wingate Barkley, 83, of Linden died Monday, Dec. 31 at her home. She was born March 14, 1929, in Linden. Barkley was a former examiner with Vanity Fair Co. She was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by sons, Reese (Ann) Barkley of Linden, Kenneth (Terri) Barkley of Pell City; daughter, Faye (Robert) Hall of Linden; sisters, Ann (Frank) Perkins of Longview, Texas, sisters, Judy (Bill) Buxton of Northport; seven grandchildren and fourteen grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Calvary Baptist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Irby Weaver and the Rev. Chris Kynard officiating. Burial was at New Octagon Cemetery in Linden.

Active pallbearers were Heath Crocker, Chase Drinkard, Matt Krueger, Kevin Perkins, Gabe Barkley and Reese Hall.

Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Glass, Dwain Glass, Jerry Atkinson and Timmy Etheridge.
