The varsity boys came into the game after a big win over Selma, but fell short, 72-63. The loss moves them to 8-9 on the season and 1-2 in area play.

“We played hard,” head coach Rodney Jackson said, “but we just didn’t shoot well. It’s always tough to win at Greenville. They have a solid ball club.”

The Tigers go on the road to Sumter Central on Tuesday night, and both the boys and girls teams will be looking to defeat the Jaguars after coming up short in the first meeting.

The next home game for the Tigers is Thursday night when they play host to the Clarke County Bulldogs.
