Dona Jean Thornton, 60, of Gallion died Thursday, Jan. 24 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

She was born Nov. 5, 1952 in Mississippi to Lucille Ferguson and the late Van V. Ferguson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Van V. Ferguson.

She is survived by her mother, Lucille Ferguson; husband, John Jeffery Thornton; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Large; brother, V.V. (Butch) Ferguson; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing.
