LIVINGSTON – For the second time this season, University of West Alabama pitcher Sarah Ray has been named the Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week, becoming the second student-athlete to earn multiple GSC Pitcher of the Week honors this season.

The junior right-hander from Yuma, Ariz., was tremendous from the circle as the Tigers went 4-0 last week. Ray tossed two complete games and allowed just six hits – only one for extra bases – and one earned run in wins over Christian Brothers and Delta State.

Her best performance came against CBU, where she allowed just two singles, walked two and struck out five in a 3-0 win. On the season, Ray is 16-6 with 67 strikeouts and a 2.38 ERA in 123 2/3 innings, including 11 complete games. She is second in the GSC in wins, ninth in strikeouts, and fifth in ERA and innings pitched.
