Chester Laverne Humble, 79, of Linden, died Monday, April 22 at Anderson Hospital in Meridian, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Humble; and three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, June E. Humble, of Linden; two sons, Homer L. (Sandy) Humble of Largo, Fla., and Joseph (Tammy) Humble of Illinois; one brother, David Humble of Avon Park, Fla.; and two daughters, June Anna (Robert) Hill of Blountville, and Jocelynn April Humble of Linden.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel with the Rev. Carl Williams and Dr. Bobby Hopper officiating. Burial will follow at Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Buster Compton, Bill Noland, Dennis Spence, Guinn Etheredge, Don Joiner and Garry Malone.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Couch, Henry Baxley, Frances Forehand, Herman Van Devander, Joe Banks, Charles Willis and Charlie Jacobs.
