Bobby Cleveland Combs, 79, of Marion, passed away Thursday, May 23.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Forrest and Linnie Pugh Combs; brothers, George Combs and Cecil Combs, sister, Irene Stockman; and son, Walter Brack Combs.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie Mae Combs of Marion; daughters, Becky (Anthony) Long of Marion and Melissa (Ray) Hillman of Livingston; and son, Paul (Lori Ann) Combs of Marion Junction; grandchildren, Wesley (Keeli) Osmer of Montgomery, Everette Osmer of Marion, Dean (Haley) Tolar of Marion, Matthew and Marshall Hillman of Livingston, Sarah and Mary Caroline Combs of Marion Junction; great-grandchildren, Bracken and Ella Katherine Osmer of Montgomery and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at Rosemount Cemetery in Uniontown, Alabama Tuesday, May 28 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Douglas Vance officiating and Kirk Funeral Home directing.

He was born in Faunsdale on Sept. 19, 1933, to Walter and Linny Combs.

He attended Uniontown High School and was a graduate of the class of 1952. He then joined the United States Navy in June of 1952, serving until 1956 with an honorable discharge. In March of 1961, he began his lifelong career in the maintenance department as a welder/pipe fitter at Gulf States Paper Company in Demopolis, retiring in December 1993.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Vaughan Regional Hospital in Selma, especially the health care professionals on the second floor and also the Perry County Nursing Home, Tonya and all the people who cared for him.
