The city of Linden will hold their annual Summer Celebration on June 27-29.

There will be a carnival all three days of the celebration with different types of rides.

“We try to do a carnival every year in addition to the one we have a Chilly Fest,” Bruce Ward, Linden city secretary, said. “Hopefully, this will be something we can continue to do every year.”

Tickets for the carnival can be purchased at city hall in Linden for $12 that is good for any day of the carnival, but for one-time use. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate of the carnival for $15. Tickets will be available at city hall beginning Monday, June 17.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, June 27-28, and they will open at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29.

There will also be a Fourth of July Parade held on Saturday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. Anyone who wants to participate is welcome. The only restrictions are on four-wheelers and three-wheelers. Ward said everything else is allowed. There is no fee for entry in the parade.

“The parade is new this year,” Ward said. “Since we weren’t able to have a Veteran’s Day parade last year, we wanted to have this parade.”

Vendors will be out on Saturday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and there will be gospel music from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ward said if someone wants to be a vendor during the event to call him at (334) 295-5051, ext. 1.
