CASPER, Wyo. – Recording a time of 8.9 in Wednesday night’s third go around has West Alabama cowboy Zach Wilson in the lead in tie down roping at the College National Finals Rodeo at the Casper Event Center.

A freshman from Billingsley, Wilson sports a 28.2 average with just the short go left. He is 1.1 seconds ahead of Weber State’s Taylor Christensen and 1.8 seconds ahead of third-place Reese Riemer from Tarleton State.

Wilson can claim a national title for UWA with a solid performance in Saturday’s short go around.
