The Marengo County Historical Society will host a Cookin’ in the Canebrake Recipe Party on Tuesday, July 16, at 6 p.m. at the Demopolis Public Library.

Cookin’ in the Canebrake, compiled by the Marengo County Historical Society, has more than 950 recipes from Demopolis’ favorite cooks. Community members are invited to prepare a dish from the recipe book and bring it to the library to share.

Photocopies of recipes can be made for free at the library, or recipe books may be purchased at the Canebrake Craft Corner for $30. Books will also be available for purchase the night of the party.
