David George Yuronis, a resident of Kingfisher Bay Marina, died July 26 of an apparent heart attack at the age of 73.

A scientist and philosopher by training and chemist by profession, he also taught mathematics and chemistry throughout his long career in such disparate locations as Nigeria (Peace Corps), Detroit, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Beaufort, S.C.

He is survived by wife, Valorie Gifford; daughter, Robin Carillo of Orlando, Fla., and step-son Steven Smith who resides in Germany.

A funeral service at Trinity Episcopal Church will be announced at a later date.
