West Alabama men’s freshman golfer Trevor Page wrapped up the final round of the Full Moon Invitational having shot a 72 to lead the Tigers for the second consecutive tournament on Tuesday. Page carded a six-over par 148 overall to finish 16th individually improving on his 24th finish in round one.

“Today was a nice turnaround from a rough first day,” said UWA head golf coach Adam Buie. “Trevor finished with another impressive day. He has now entrenched himself as our number one seed.”

The young UWA men overall improved 13 strokes in round two to finish eighth with 51-over par 619 at the Timberline Golf Club. Florida Tech took home first place with 564 as the only team to finish under par, maintaining four-under through the second round.

Freshman Wesley Etheridge competed as the individual to tie with Page for 16th place. Etheridge led the Tigers in round one with 75 and ended day two with a 73.

“Trevor and Wes both had strong performances in the tournament,” said Buie. “It’s always a good day when you have two freshman finish in the top 20.”

Men’s golf will return to the course on Oct. 20 in the TVA Credit Union Classic in Florence, hosted by the University of North Alabama.
