Sylvester Essex, 82 of Demopolis entered into eternal rest Oct. 6 at the Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 12 at noon at the Eastern Star Baptist Church in Demopolis with the Rev. Terry Gosa officiating. Interment followed in Memorial Cemetery on Arcola Road in Demopolis.

Survivors include three sisters, one devoted, Dollie Richardson of Mobile, Beulah Harrell of Gadsden, and Wilma Winston of Tuscaloosa; one brother, Nathan Essex of Memphis, Tenn.; two devoted cousins, Larry (Loudella) McIntosh and John L. (Cleo) Wilson, both of Demopolis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and one devoted friend, Melvin McKinley of Demopolis.
