Batter Up Sports Bar and Grill is teaming up with the Demopolis Rotary Club and Demopolis High School for a canned food drive.

Batter Up and Rotary are working with the high school’s JROTC and Interact Club to pull the event together.

The food drive started last week and will continue through Monday, Nov. 25.

Food or monetary donations can be dropped off at Batter Up, Holiday Cleaners or Parr’s West (Pruitt’s). Schools are also collecting cans for the drive.

This Saturday, Nov. 2, members of the JROTC will collect food and donations in Vowell’s parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Batter Up will also give back 10 percent of all sales the night of Tuesday, Nov. 12 to the food drive. This will include all dine-in or carry out orders from 5 to 8 p.m. Interact and Rotary members will bus tables that night too.

Every Tuesday this football season, Batter Up has given back part of its proceeds to different schools or organizations.

All cans and proceeds will go to the Demopolis Food Pantry, which provides food to about 200 people each week.
