Riverside Care and Share celebrates 20 years

The 957th meeting of Riverside Care and Share was held Oct. 23, marking 20 years for the group.

The speaker and music leader for the event was the Rev. Carl Williams, pastor of First Baptist Church in Demopolis.

Meetings are held 48 times per year, with no meetings New Years week, 4th of July week, Thanksgiving week or Christmas week. Lunches are served five times per year for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, everybody’s birthday in August, Thanksgiving and anniversary combined, and Christmas time.

Care and Share is a mission outreach of First Baptist Church in Demopolis. Meetings each Wednesday are held at the Riverside Apartments in the activity room, beginning with fellowship and refreshments at 9:30 a.m. and the program at 9:45 a.m.

Each week, members and visitors are inspired and encouraged with devotional message, Christian fellowship, music and prayer.

During the 20 years of the Care and Share, more than 100 people have been members at one time or another.

New members and visitors are always welcome.
