The Christmas Carnival will be open both days.

This year’s grand marshal for the parade is Rick Scott, a Linden native who is the Chief Meteorologist for WVUA-TV in Tuscaloosa.

There are some changes to the Chili Cook Off this year that participants will need to know.

The city has added a cornbread contest to the Chili Cook Off.

Each team will be given the chance to cook cornbread and submit it with their chili sample. The one with the best cornbread will win $100.

Also this year, the team with the best chili will win $500. The second-place team will receive $250 and the third-place team will receive $100.

There will also be some changes to the Christmas Parade of Lights. This year they have eliminated the first, second and third place recognition, and have changed it to a Best Float contest.

Whoever has the best float will win $100. The theme for this year is “Forecast: A White Christmas.” There is no fee to enter the parade.
