Emanuel Evans of Detroit, Mich., a native of Jefferson, entered into eternal rest on Dec. 19, in Detroit.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Small Memorial AME Zion Church in Jefferson with full military honors. The Rev. Edward Seabron, pastor of Berry’s Chapel AME Zion Church in Jackson officiated. Interment followed on Monday, Jan. 6 in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.

Survivors include a devoted niece, Letha Annn Larde and her children, Ursura Lapsley (Delbert Jr. Baby Del and Lynzee Blanks), Roschelle K. Kelly (Zia); an adopted son, Ronals Evans; brother, Woodie (Julia) Sanders; sister, Hattie (Levi) Harris; devoted cousins, Mary Jones and Emma Jones, Thelma Crispen and Tommy Phillips; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted friends and other relatives.
