Martha Paralee Barks Low, 97, of Gallion, died Thursday, Jan. 16 at her residence.

She was born March 23, 1916, in Greenville, Mo., to the late Luther Hallet and Lydia Watkins Barks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Hallet and Lydia Watkins Barks; husband, James Hershell Low; sons, Elvis Low and Larry Low; two sisters; and four brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Thelma (Larry) Casper of Gallion, Reatha (Perry) Ray of Gallion, and Betty (Buck) Bailey of Tennessee; sons, Raymond (Betty) Low of Gallion, and Calvin (Judy) Low of Gallion; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel with burial following in Demopolis Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jay Low, Brad Low, Greg Low, Lane Casper, Kevin Low, Michael Casper, Alex Casper and Lee Casper. Honorary pallbearers will be Comfort Care staff and caregivers.
