Madeline Marie Wilkerson Griffies, 87, a homemaker of Pennington, died Friday, March 21 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital. She was born May 13, 1926, in Cuba, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Griffies; and her son, Roy Griffies.

She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Lewis of Linden, Carolyn Griffies of Pennington and Helen Huckabee of Sweet Water; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Monday, March 24 from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service time with the Rev. Lister Hill officiating. Burial was in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Pennington.
