DHS softball routs Selma in area win

Demopolis earned a big win Thursday in a 20-1 win over Selma in an Area 6 matchup.

Abbey Latham went 3-for-5 in the game with a home run, a double, three RBIs, two stolen bases and three runs scored. Jessica Adams went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, three stolen bases and a RBI, while Cameron Thomason went 1-for-3 with a run scored, a RBI and a double.

Riley King scored three runs in the game while Baleigh Grace singled and scored a run, and Jade Montgomery scored a run.

Anna Caroline Logan finished the game 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs, a stolen base and two runs scored.

Rachel Smith and Natalie Tatum each scored two runs in the game as well. Kendall Hannah had a RBI and two runs scored and Julia Veres scored a run.

In the pitcher’s circle, Hanna Malone earned the win with two strikeouts over two innings pitched. Tatum pitched one inning and earned one strikeout while Hannah struck out three in two innings of work.

Demopolis will be back in action Tuesday on the road at Bibb County. They will return home Thursday to face Jackson.
