The Demopolis High School golf team won the Fayette County Invitational last week.

The Tigers defeated Fayette County, Cordova, Brookwood, Brilliant, Sulligent and Caledonia, Miss., to claim the tournament title.

For only the second time all season, a Demopolis player was not the low medalist in the match. Braden Spiller and Jordan Williams made the all-tournament team.

The tournament will not count towards the Tigers’ overall record, which still stands at 26-0 on the season.

“All five of our boys are seniors and they’ve played well over the last four years,” head coach Mike Black said. “Their record over the last four years is 100-4. I’m very proud of their achievements and proud to have been their coach.”

The boys will head to Sylacauga on Monday to compete in sectionals. The only girl on the team, Anna Reid, will travel to Mobile to compete in sectionals.
