The Canebrake Players will present “The Wedding Singer” in August.

The show will the first weekend of August with performances on 7 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2 and 4. There will be a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 3.

The Wedding Singer was written by Chad Beguelin and Tim Herlihy, with music by Matthew Sklar and and lyrics by Beguelin. It’s based off the 1998 film The Wedding Singer, starring Adam Sandler.

Kirk Brooker will direct the Canebrake production. The band members will be James Burden (Robbie), Drew Tucker (Sammy) and James Robinson (George).

Leading ladies include Kelley Jordan (Julia), Andi Turberville (Holly), Jennifer Roemen (Rosie), Rebecca Hasty (Linda) and Christi George (Angie).

Other cast members include Justin Averette, Donna Bishop, Jennifer Belcher, Morgan Cooper, Taylor Cooper, Erin Dixon, Christi George, Patrick George, Cyd Johnston, Johnny Johnston, Meggin Mayben, Kelley Mullins, Susanna Naisbett, Paige Smith and Laurie Willingham.
