Adriana Sanchez has been named The Demopolis Times’ “Reader of the Week.”

Adriana Sanchez has been named The Demopolis Times’ “Reader of the Week” at the Demopolis Public Library.

The 8 year old lives in Demopolis with her parents, Tara and Fernando Sanchez, and younger brother, Alex. She will start the fourth grade at U.S. Jones Elementary School this fall.

This summer, Adriana has enjoyed spending time at the library during their summer reading program “Fizz, Boom, Read.” She likes to read, color and put on puppet shows at the library.

Adriana is fond of books about animals, especially fish, and princesses. She is currently reading several books on fish and the “Pinkalicious” series by Victoria and Elizabeth Kann.

“Pinkalicious” is a book series about a whimsical young girl who loves all things pink and teaches kids that being themselves is an important part of life.

The series was inspired by author and illustrator Victoria Kann’s two daughters, who enjoy cupcakes and the color pink nearly as much as Pinkalicious.

Registration for “Fizz, Boom, Read” ends Friday, but it’s never too late to take your children to the library. Registration for the adult summer reading program, “Literary Elements,” is open through Thursday, June 26.
