John C. Barnes III, 65, of Demopolis, died Saturday, June 21 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Kirk Funeral Home Chapel with Kirk Funeral Home Chapel of Demopolis directing.

He was born July 14, 1948, in Demopolis to the late John Carlton and Martha Patterson Barnes.

He was preceded in death by parents, John Carlton and Martha Patterson Barnes.

He is survived by his daughter, Molly Barnes (Jason) Malone of Linden; sister, Deborah Barnes (William) Partridge of Sarasota, Fla.; brother, Michael O. (Sue) Barnes of Demopolis; and grandchild, Piper Barnes Malone.

Pallbearers were William E. Partridge, Michael O. Barnes, Jason Malone, Ronald Jennings, Curtis A. Taylor, David Cleveland and Byron Dostor.
