Helen Gray Burge, 84, a retired garment inspector of Jackson, died Wednesday, Aug. 20 at her home.

She was born Jan. 18, 1930, in Sunny South. She was a member of Uniontown Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Melvin (Ann) Burge of Selma and Ted (Susan) Burge of Greensboro; daughter, Judy (Russell) Stephens of Jackson; two brothers, Robert Milton Sims of Pine Hill and William Cecil Sims of Thomasville; sister, Una Rae Sims Hill of Pine Hill; eight grandchildren, Elisha (Pearson) Rogers, Ellen (Jimbo) Miller, Jeremy (Carol Beth) Burge, Lynzie (Brian) Davis, Teri (Warren) Walton, Justin Burge, Josh Stephens and Emily (Matt) Drinkard; and 11 great-grandchildren, Clayton Rogers, Cannon Rogers, Addison Miller, Auden Davis, Burke Davis, Evie Leigh Walton, Henry Walton, Caleb Walton, Autum Tillary, Eli Burge and Battle Burge.

Funeral services were held at Uniontown Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Ben Stubblefield and the Rev. Brian Jemison officiating. Bural was at Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown.

Active pallbearers were Jeremy Burge, Justin Burge, Pearson Rogers, Jimbo Miller, Brian Davis and Warren Walton. Honorary pallbearers were Josh Stephens, Matt Drinkard, Huett Brunson, Walton Drake and Buck Shand.
