Robert Wayne Williamson, 73, of Demopolis, passed away Sunday, Feb. 1. Jan 24, 1942.

Affectionately known as “Smiley”, he was born Jan. 24, 1942, to Elma and Leander Williamson of Talladega, who preceded him in death.

He graduated from Talladega High School and attended Livingston University on a football scholarship, worked and owned several businesses in the Demopolis area, the latest being Fabric Fair.

He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church where he served as an usher.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny E. (Eula), Jack L., Byron G., Donald F., and Michael L. (Judy); and daughter in law, Vi.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Cecil Porter Williamson; sons Rob Williamson of Washington, D.C., and Ron (Kim) Williamson of Birmingham; two daughters Olga (Thomas) Huebner of Orlando, Fla., and Jyl Williamson of Birmingham; two grandchildren, Porter and Anna Caroline Williamson; a brother, Holmes Earl (Linda) of Navarre, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Wayne will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Demopolis on Saturday, Feb 7, at noon.

Honorary pallbearers are the 1964 football players of the L.U. Tigers.
