Police chief candidates announced

DEMOPOLIS The nine candidates for the position of Demopolis Police Department chief have been announced by city officials.
Jeff Manuel, who served as the city’s public safety director and oversaw the police department, resigned on June 20, and Tim Williams was named the interim police chief by the Demopolis City Council.
Demopolis mayor Mike Grayson said at his weekly press conference on Monday that he hopes to have a permanent police chief in place by Feb. 10, the 100th day for this Demopolis City Council’s term.
Candidates for the position of police chief of Demopolis include:
•Timothy Barnhill of Gallion, currently a state investigator with Dallas County district attorney Michael Jackson
•Patrick Creel of Red Bay, currently chief of police for the Red Bay Police Department
•Randall Estes of Demopolis, currently an officer in charge with the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles
•Leslie Hines of Demopolis, currently a patrolman with the Demopolis Police Department
•Phillip Maddox of Northport, currently the owner of American Auto Sales
•Morris Polion of Tuscaloosa, currently a detective with the Greensboro Police Department
•Tommie Reese of Demopolis, currently the chief deputy sheriff with the Marengo County Sheriff’s Department
•Brady Tew of Demopolis, currently a sergeant with the Demopolis Police Department
•Tim Williams of Demopolis, currently the interim police chief for the Demopolis Police Department
