Tornado watch, flood warnings issued

A tornado watch has been issued by the National Weather Service in Birmingham for 18 counties across Alabama, including Marengo, Greene Hale, Sumter and Perry counties. The watch will last until 7 p.m. tonight.

Flood warnings have also been issued for this area. Flood warnings have been issued for:

•The Black Warrior River at Selden Lock and Dam, where the river is expected to rise above flood stage Tuesday night and reach 10.9 feet above flood stage by Thursday evening.

•The Tombigbee River at the Lower Bevill Lock and Dam, where the warning will last until Sunday evening. The river is expected to rise above the flood stage today and reach 6.4 feet above flood stage by Wednesday evening.

•The Tombigbee River at the Lower Gainesville Lock and Dam,where the warning is expected to last until Sunday afternoon. The river is expected to rise above flood stage by Wednesday afternoon and will rise to about 3 feet above flood stage by Thursday morning.

•The Tombigbee River at the Demopolis Lock and Dam, from Wednesday evening until further notice. The river is expected to reach flood stage by Wednesday evening and rise to 7.6 feet above flood stage by Saturday evening.

•The Black Warrior River at the Lower Oliver Lock and Dam, where the river is expected to rise above flood stage by tonight and rise to 6 feet above flood stage by Wednesday afternoon.
